I hate writing about me. I would rather be playing my guitar. I have been playing music all my life. It has given me purpose and solace and kept me inspired.

As a child I would spend hours playing songs and sounds on my harmonica mimicking what I heard. It became my breath. I played in the clubs in Houston’s blues and folk scene, jamming with Wheatfield, Roxy Hill, and the legendary Boogie Kings. At age 17, I joined the ARMY as a Medic. I was stationed in Germany, where I would frequent the USO and local clubs at night cutting my teeth on many styles of music. Hanging out with the locals cleared my head from working as a Medic.

Returning to the states I started playing music in clubs and touring with many artists including Bo Diddley, Gary Stewart, Roy Head, Larry Butler and Mickey Newberry. I also played in the house band at the infamous Gilly’s on Monday nights.

In the early 80’s, I moved to Nashville and was accepted to MTSU because of my harmonica skills. As a music major at MTSU, I studied classical guitar and piano. Living in Nashville, playing in the clubs and recording with different musicians was quite a learning experience; however, I missed Texas.

In the early 90s, I moved back to Austin and began working as a sidemen for many bands including Gary P. Nunn and Steven Fromholtz. Through the years I’ve been lucky and honored to play with some of the best Austin musicians: Chris Gage, Kevin Russell of the Shiney Ribs, and too many more to list. Nowadays, I play mostly solo gigs, focusing on original music and popular songs. Music is my life. It keeps me sane and happy. Thank you for reading my bio. Give me a chance and come hear me play. I will put a smile on your face.
